1. Visit the majestic and iconic Borobudur Prambanan temples using the joint tickets
Borobudur is about 40 minute drive trip from Yogyakarta. It is best to purchase the joint tickets for both Borobudur and Prambanan, therefore it is cheaper and more practical. It costs Rp 350,000 for joints tickets and are valid for two days, just in case you will not be able to visit both temples on the same day.
However it is great idea to enjoy the mind blowing sunrise at Borobudur and settle down for beautiful sunset and time at beautiful Prambanan temple.

Cycling is one of my favorite things to do in Yogyakarta. Besides, Yogyakarta was dominated by the bicycles as recently as the 1970’s but has since been encroached upon by a lot of motorbikes (scooters) whizzing around.
The best thing about Yogyakarta is that you just need to travel for only few kms from the city then you will get your eyes pampered by the beautiful lush green rice field area and beautiful landscaping of the country sides. If you would like to experience this, the west side of Jogja is the best.
Generally speaking it is nice to cycling all around Yogyakarta. In term of cycling trek depend on your preference and physically fit.
If you are into uphill cycling, try to catch up either sunrise or sunset up to the south of Yogyakarta, Kebun buah Bangunan.
Either sunrise or sunset are mind blowing. I did it had cycling up there for sunset, but make sure to take the headlight otherwise you will have to use your ‘heart’ for seeing the road. The roads of the villages close to the sunset/sunrise points are dark. No road lights are installed though.
Mangunan is just one of Yogyakarta sunset/sunrise points. There are a lot of the same sunset/sunrise watching spots around Yogyakarta really.
